ProCalc Assure
If the analysis is wrong, the volume is wrong. Assure is where it is checked.

What Assure does
A gas volume calculation needs relative density. Relative density comes from the composition. So an analysis that is off — a bad sample, a liquid in the cylinder, a lab error — is a volume that is off, on every day that analysis is in the flow computer. Assure validates every analysis against your own acceptance criteria before it is used anywhere, and once it is accepted, sends it to SCADA or the field device itself. More than 250,000 gas meters run on it; it is the North American standard for composition validation. Assure is the sample validation we built and refined for years as ProTrend, now a module of ProCalc.
Inside Assure
The sample is scheduled, so it exists
Collect schedules the sample pull and ProTrack follows the bottle to the lab and back. The lab analyses it and sends the result to ProCalc. Assure starts with an analysis that has a meter, a date and a chain of custody attached.
Validated against your criteria
You set the acceptance criteria — by component, by change from the previous analysis, by whatever your contracts and regulators require. Assure runs every analysis against them. The ones that pass need nothing from you.
Exceptions, decided one at a time
An analysis that fails is an exception with a reason. Reject it and, with one button, the sample is rescheduled in Collect. Accept it and record why. Either way the decision, the person and the reason are on the record.
Nothing is used until it is accepted
Validate and Balance only see accepted analyses. A rejected analysis never reaches a volume calculation.
Sent to the device by the software
Once accepted, Assure uploads the analysis to SCADA or directly to the field device. No one types a composition into a flow computer.
Recombination
Single, group, well and effluent recombination, run on accepted analyses and stored against the meter with the analyses it came from.
Regulatory outputs
PAS, TDG and H2S outputs produced from the same accepted analyses, so the regulator receives the composition the volume was calculated with.
Calibrations, the same way
Meter calibration results from Collect are validated, stored against the meter and scheduled for recall, with a library of editable calibration forms.
On its own, or end to end
Assure reads the shared data lake, so it can improve this one process while everything else connects by API or file — or run as part of the whole chain. About the ProCalc platform.
What comes in
- Lab analyses, tracked by ProTrack or from any lab
- Calibration results from Collect
- Your acceptance criteria
What goes out
- Accepted analyses into Validate, Balance and SCADA or the field device
- Rejected analyses back to Collect as rescheduled samples
- Audit trail of every accept and reject decision
Rather have us do it?
Our technicians and laboratories do this work for customers every month, scheduled and reported in Collect, so you see it done and read the result online.
Also in ProCalc Measurement
- CollectSchedule any field activity, assign it and the form it needs, and see it done. ProCalc FDC in the field; ProTrack for samples.
- ValidateVolumes from every source, checked against your rules, edited, and sent where they need to go.
- BalanceThe sanity check between validated volumes and allocation: do the numbers add up?
What customers say
All testimonialsWhen we experienced a change in staffing, we decided to explore new options for measurement record keeping. Cost savings were a priority, especially since our previous supplier required not only an annual fee but also a mandatory upgrade charge and a lengthy implementation process. I wasn’t heavily…
We are new business owners in the gas and oil industry and I cannot say enough great things about Critical Control and their team. We really enjoy the mobile app and the ability to scan in our charts and, even more importantly, to have production data at our fingertips. Our situation as a very…
The mobile chart scanning application on the phones is awesome. Late scanning and scanning errors are a thing of the past. All of my operators are thrilled with the ease of use and convenience of scanning the charts as they come off the readers.
